As a former UA-camr, I can honestly say, even when I was streaming I would think the question, "I wonder what people actually think of me while I'm streaming..." and some days were harder than others, I'll admit. I appreciated the many people who came to my streams and supported, but after awhile (and this is just my experience) I just realized that I didn't enjoy it as much as I used to, and I think it was because so much was forced upon me when I was in that community. Obviously now that I'm gone from all that and am healing, I do miss streaming at times, but I would rather support others who enjoy it and want to do it, rather than force myself to do it, and burn out again. Maybe one day I'll decide to get back into gaming and stream again, but we'll see. You never know. Also, I think being away from the toxicity I was in, would allow me to be more of myself if I streamed again.

My mom wanted an Irish name for me, so she named me Shannon Colleen. Surprisingly Shannon or Colleen is not very popular names in the US. (Shannon is a little more common than Colleen though) I have been a teacher for 25 years and have never taught a Shannon or Colleen. However, I did go to high school with a Shannon and a Colleen. I think Colleen is such a beautiful name, it comes from the Irish word Cailin (with a fada over the second i), which means "girl".

That cannot change. That means that you can be of Irish descent and NOT be born in Ireland. I totally agree that the wording is hard though. I normally tell people I am American(yes I get some weird looks) as I live in the states but I do know enough of where I was born in Korea. . .not that I remember much of it as I immigrated to the states when I was 7. LOL I'm genetically Korean BUT I am American. I was born in Korea but grew up here in the states. I feel a connection with Koreans and Americans. I feel like I am both and feel like I am lucky that I can have that connection with both people. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk. LOL
